Our client is Sydney's premier artisan bakery company and they are currently seeking a talented Quality Assurance Officer to join their team on a full time basis.

Reporting to the Head of Quality, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day support of site products to ensure compliance to quality/food safety standards and customer expectations are met.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Assist in developing processes, specifications, and critical control points
• Track, analyse and lead root cause analysis for all supplier, quality, and customer complaint issues
• Daily monitoring of operational procedures
• Facilitate continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
• Maintain and initiate all recordkeeping and KPIs
• Facilitate activities with regards to packaging, labelling, and product traceability
• Ensure team understands safe work practices and conducts work procedures safely
• Maintain a high level of food safety and hygiene standards
• Assist with WQA, GMP and HACCP
• Conduct internal audits and reviews

Knowledge / Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in food science or relevant industry experience/qualification
• Knowledge of HACCP, Quality/Risk Management
• Capability to develop quality procedures
• Attention to detail and accuracy, be well organised and able to work autonomously and within a fast-paced team environment
• Demonstrated research and analytical skills and ability to analyse and present data
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage confidential information
• Be trustworthy, have integrity and professionalism at all times
• High initiative, enthusiasm, and adaptability
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
