Business Support Officer

Salary: $30-$35 per hour Location: Ref: KM/013

Although the initial contract is on the short side, the contacts and experience you will gain during it will be invaluable. And the possibility of extension is definitely there.

For this particular role:

To provide effective business administrative support to the People & Culture branch relating to the employee lifecycle including probation, confirmation, development and separation. To provide support to all People & Culture Programs.

In this role you will be key in providing support in the following areas:

Administrative Support
Customer Service
Events Support
Financial Support.

A basic knowledge of administrative and financial processes and procedures, as well as demonstrated experience using the Microsoft Office suite products.
Organisational skills with an ability to prioritise activities to meet deadlines.
Self-motivated and have a personal commitment to reliability, professionalism, continuous improvement, team work and have the ability to work autonomously.
Ability to develop knowledge of practices and procedures within the People and Culture Branch.
Effective communicaton skills reflected in a demonstrated ability to deal with internal and external customers at all levels with tact, understanding and a high degree of confidentiality and maturity;
Ability to troubleshoot in the moment and provide solutions to issues that arise, within bounds of extent of authority, and maintain a professional approach.
Handle confidential & sensitive matters with discretion at all times.

Demonstrated experience in the provision of administration, requiring the use of sound organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail and an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and strong customer focus in providing client services in a variety of mediums.
Demonstrated ability to work productively as part of a high performing team to ensure achievement of outcomes including building, maintaining and fostering good relationships with colleagues, clients and team members.
Demonstrated capacity to show initative & think independently, apply learning in a team environment, with commitment and contribution to the work team. A personal commitment to reliability, professionalism, team work and continuous improvement is essential.
Demonstrated accurate word processing, spread sheeting, outlook, PowerPoint and database ability with experience in producing outcomes and a competency in Finance One package involving purchase requisitions, orders and invoicing would be desirable.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer applications.
