Multi-site Quality Assurance Manager

Description: A growing company based in Brisbane is seeking a proven QA Manager with Food manufacturing experience to lead food safety and QA compliance across multiple sites.

With big plans for the future, our client has created a role for a talented and charismatic Quality Assurance Manager. Based in the Brisbane area, the company operate a number of sites domestically and have plans to build a new state of the art facility in the near future. Your role will be to review the Quality management systems at each site, streamline processes and procedures and ensure all products produced are to customer specification and safe for consumption. Being apart of the senior leadership team you will establish strong internal relationships and work cross functionally to ensure the QA function as a whole is up to date, complaint and consistent across the company. Reporting to the COO and working closely with key internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for the following example of duties:

• Development of a strategic plan inline with business objectives
• Full GAP analysis of existing Quality systems
• Travel to company processing facilities and audit against internal and external standards
• Identify and action areas for improvement and cost savings
• Build strong business relationships internally and externally
• Work with site based staff to ensure all GMP and QA processes are efficient, compliant and documented
• Liaise with customers on any complaints and ensure a speedy resolution
• Attain further accreditations such as BRC / SQF and others
• Audit and confirm third parties accreditations and issue NCRs on where necessary
• Ensure effective processes are in place for any product withdrawals / recalls
• Report all QA progress / issues to the board of directors
• Coordinate product testing
• Work with NPD to ensure all new products meet regulatory and compliance standards (e.g. labelling, marketing claims, specifications, FSANZ etc.)
• Other duties as required

In order to be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Qualifications in food science or a related field
• Previous experience leading QA within a food manufacturer
• Strong knowledge of retailer and certifying body standards (e.g. HACCP, BRC, SQF, WSE, CFMSR, Halal, Kosher, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability improving QA results
• High attention to detail
• Strong influencing and customer service skills through outstanding written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated ability to train staff and promote a QA focused company culture
• Able to travel domestically and internationally when required
