The Solution Architect will join the Digital Business Division of a large Federal government department. This role requires a passionate, adaptable individual who is adept at building great working relationships with different stakeholders as part of their work to develop overarching technical architecture solutions.

The division consists of a number of multi-disciplinary teams with over 70 digital and technology professionals sustaining a range of biosecurity systems used by departmental staff and industry clients. Sustainment includes defect management, application configuration to facilitate infrastructure upgrades and enhancements to maintain currency with evolving business policies and work practices.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with stakeholders on complex solution design(s) across a range of systems managed by Biosecurity Digital Sustainment, particularly for more complex enhancements and updates to existing systems.
• Detail and document integrations with other systems.
• Document the necessary Architectural Decisions and progressing these through the relevant Governance boards/groups.
• Align project solutions with enterprise strategies, platforms, and roadmaps.
• Work closely with business and digital stakeholders and will develop architectural artifacts that meet/exceed all defined project requirements and are consumable by the intended audiences.
• Identify architectural patterns to increase system availability, reliability, and security by utilising best practices for the Azure platform

Criteria:

• Experience designing solutions ranging from legacy monolithic/batch processing systems, to modern event-driven, microservice & cloud-native applications, Microsoft technology stacks for large, complex solutions with high levels of integration.
• Experience and/or certification relating to designing solutions for the Microsoft Azure platform, with specific experience in Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure App Service and Azure SQL/SQL MI as highly valued.
• Skills and experience in developing solution and integration architecture, with experience across multiple technologies and platforms..
• Comprehensive written and verbal communications & stakeholder engagement skills & the ability to produce the appropriate artefact for the target audience
