Description:
Our client is a fast-growing food manufacturer who specialise in delivering quality finished products directly to retailers and other food businesses. With a national footprint, they are currently searching for an energetic and experienced leader for their extensive site in northern Melbourne. The Site Operations Manager will have complete responsibility for all on-site operations, P&L control, and overseeing a highly efficient production process. Ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements is maintained across a 24/7 operation will also be key.

Your leadership abilities will play an integral part in the introduction of change and the strengthening of the site culture, so an excellent communicator is vital.

In this position, you will:
• Monitor and control all operational processes to optimize throughput and productivity.
• Oversee and drive initiatives around control of operational costs, usage, and waste.
• Manage process and product quality to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
• Drive a safe and healthy work environment.
• Facilitate effective teamwork, team meetings, staff training, and performance management processes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Identify and encourage process improvement opportunities to enable business efficiencies across the board and reduce production unit cost.
• Be able to play a key part of the company strategic vision and convert this to tangible results.

The ideal candidate will possess:
• Extensive site leadership experience within a Food/Beverage manufacturing environment
• A tertiary qualification or suitable industry experience would be highly regarded.
• Thorough understanding of maintenance issues and processes.
• Strong working knowledge of OH&S.
• Experience in and an appreciation of working in a Lean Manufacturing Environment.
• Understand the role technology plays in manufacturing.
• Strong budgetary management and overall financial acumen.
• Excellent communication skills.
