Osborne Richardson love working with our Government clients in the south-west of Sydney and, on this occasion, we have an absolute stonker of a role to bring to the market. We are seeking an Injury Management/Workers Compensation Specialist for our colleagues in Canterbury-Bankstown Council.
Starting ASAP, your new role will continue until early January when extension will be highly likely. Obviously, the initial contract period is your opportunity to make yourself indispensable to the team!! Pay rates on this role are as good as they come and you will find yourself places somewhere in the range of $62.40 to $72.52 per hour + Super.
In this role, you will use your own finely tuned skills and experience in Injury Management/Workers Comp to add considerable value to the existing team. Everyday duties should be very familiar to you and will include managing all aspects of workers compensation claims in accordance with SIRA requirements including the self-Insurance licence requirements, the legislative framework and the claims management technical guides.
• Undertake claims management functions including assessments of liability, claims review, wage calculations and injury management activities.
• Make decisions as to management of claims within delegated limits.
• Prepare and maintain workers compensation documents.
• Develop, maintain and implement Injury Management Plans.
• Ensure all workers compensation claimants are communicated with on a regular and systematic basis to ensure effective injury management and a high standard of customer service.
• Identify gaps between claims management practices and SIRA requirements and make necessary improvements to system documentation and implement where necessary
• Assist managers and team members to investigate incidents relating to injuries.

1. Qualifications in workers compensation claims management and or injury management functions will be essential.
2. Previous claims management experience for a self insurer or scheme agent.
3. A strong ability to interpret and apply legislation to meet business requirements.
4. An Allied heath background would be advantageous
5. RTW Coordinator accreditation and/or experience is desirable.
6. Previous experience using SolvInjury is not essential but beneficial.
