Lead a team to create a liveable, safe and sustainable City Council through the design of stormwater infrastructure, catchment management, and coordination of stormwater and road design across the region.

Key accountabilities

Lead and coordinate the Stormwater Design team, including:

o            supervision and performance management
o            mentor and development of team members
o            responsibility for overall team performance to ensure all allocated

Ensure project and program design activities are successfully delivered by agreed dates, within budget, and are in accordance with performance targets
Oversee the team to ensure all civil stormwater designs are completed in accordance with professional engineering standards, are of high quality that meet Council’s specific requirements, addressing multiple objectives such as, and not limited to, improved amenity, urban heat and safety
Authorise civil stormwater designs so they can be issued for construction
Lead and prepare technical stormwater engineering policy documents, research, strategic plans and provide technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders including the community
Develop and manage monitoring and reporting systems for the team inclusive of Asset Design’s Quality Assurance Management System
Manage overall team financial budgets
Lead and coordinate the review of Local Environmental Plan (LEP), State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPP), Development control plans (DCP)
Coordination of developer contributions stormwater management designs with road infrastructure

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Engineers Australia Chartered Engineer qualification (CpEng) and National Engineering Registration (NER)
In-depth demonstrated experience in leading and managing design teams to ensure effective and timely delivery of program activities
Demonstrated experience in GIS packages, computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications and extensive experience in AutoCAD, 12D and water engineering applications such as DRAINS, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, TUFLOW, WaterRIDE and MUSIC
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to determine and adapt management approaches for a broad range of stormwater, floodplain and road infrastructure management situations
Demonstrated commitment to customer service
Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
Experience in managing financial budgets with inclusion of forecasting
Current class C driver’s licence.

Desirable

Demonstrated experience in coordinating stormwater management and transport infrastructure with developer works
Demonstrated experience in preparing precinct scale stormwater strategies, contribution plans, and associated planning instruments and policies

About the role:

The Content and Assessment Writer is responsible for ensuring learning and assessment resources align to the qualifications, unit requirements, legislative and industry requirements and standards for the Maritime Operations (MAR) courses. While experience working in a VET environment experience is preferred, someone with experience as a technical writer in the Maritime Operations space would be considered for the position.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop and update assessment tools ensuring they meet the assessment requirements of the relevant Training Package or VET accredited qualification; Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence, and TAFE Queensland’s training and assessment processes and practices.
Produce assessment mapping and other ancillary documents and resourcesas required.
Participate in validation of assessment tools prior to use.
Develop, review and update learning resources that are well structured, accurate and stylised to meet approved guidelines and learning resource design principles.
Make modifications to the resources based on the Quality Assurance/Validation/Vocational specialist process and respond to the feedback positively and promptly.
Work with Product Lead / Product Coordinator to establish objectives, requirements, milestones and set mutual responsibilities.

Experience:

MANDATORY - Maritime Operations experience
A demonstrated ability to develop valid and reliable assessment tools as well as associated documentation, by having a clear understanding of training packages, their components and requirements.
A demonstrated ability to develop learning resources, ensuring content meets learningand teaching needs and reflects industry current practices.
A demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients by working collaboratively, operating as an effective team member and anticipating and responding to client and stakeholder needs and expectations.

The Coordinator Compliance Services will be responsible for providing team leadership and delivery of the Council's compliance, and community safety, with a focus on customer service and legislative requirements. The Coordinator Compliance Services will lead a team made up of Local Laws Officers, Animal Management Officers, Parking Officers and School Crossing Supervisors.

Key duties include:

Supporting the implementation of change across the unit by actively participating in the change process, and involving team members in discussion and activity.
Managing strategies, plans and operations to ensure they align with the established compliance framework and meet legal and policy requirements.
Managing the legal process of enforcement, including collection of evidence, preparation of witness statements and brief of evidence and presentation to courts.
Administering and ensuring compliance with the Council's obligations and authorities under Acts, Regulations and Codes.

We're looking for candidates who have:

Strong problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of principles and practices of budgeting, financial management and procurement.
The ability to manage multiple tasks, setting priorities, organise and plan own work and delegate effectively to meet timelines despite conflicting pressures.
Ability to gain co-operation and assistance from a broad range of internal and external parties, including members of the public.
Ability to represent Council to a range of external stakeholders, government departments and other councils.
Developed negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
Tertiary qualifications in relevant enforcement and compliance fields and a broad range of Local Government enforcement experience is highly desirable.

The purpose of the role is to lead and manage the Ranger Services and Rural Land Management business unit, delivering a high standard of proactive and reactive compliance associated with animal management, pest and weed

Key Responsibilities include:

Understanding, interpreting, administering and complying with relevant legislation and council policies applicable to the functions within a local government ranger services unit (animal management, local laws, pest and stock route management and weapons licencing), including being the council’s group licence holder and taking on the responsibilities of the role.
Supervising, motivating, developing and supporting work teams and
individual employees within the unit to achieve section and organisational goals.
Assisting in developing and implementing strategic and business plans across the unit and department to achieve organisational goals.
Establishing a reputation for reliance and trust across the
spectrum of stakeholders, including management, peers, fellow workers and the general public.

We're looking for people with:

Demonstrated leadership skills with extensive experience in the successful management, supervision and day to day coordination of work teams with an ability to mentor and develop staff.
Demonstrated ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders including members of the public, Councillors, state agency officers and council staff. This may include difficult and aggressive customers.
Significant experience in interpreting and complying with relevant legislative documents and the enforcement of Local Laws.
Well-developed oral and written communication and high-quality negotiation skills to respond to matters as they arise.
