About the role:

A large local council is looking for an experienced developer to join their team to support their application environment.

Responsibilities:
• Engage with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, analyse, design and implement digital systems through full SDLC
• Develop solutions that meet the requirements of Council which support and improve business processes, system integration and maximise the effectiveness of systems
• Develop, implement and maintain documentation of system design and configuration
• Develop systems both on-premise and cloud hosted
• Assist in the development of procedures and user manuals that support training material for systems
• Develop systems in alignment with the requirements of the Information Security Management Frameworks
• Follow all IT Service Management and ITIL processes
• Identify process change, system architecture and organisational change as it relates to successful system implementation
• Design work packages on projects and other initiatives for other Digital Services staff or vendors to complete
• Develop a strong understanding of Council’s key systems to assist in their continuous improvement
• Research, analyse and implement innovative solutions to improve Council operations and employee and customer experience
• Identify, develop and support the integration requirements of Council systems
• Provide Level 2 and 3 support on any problems involving Council’s application databases

Participate in the development of databases to meet requirements of new initiatives and projects

Experience and skills:

This role will focus on understanding business needs and translating them into scalable, user-friendly solutions which best align with the native capabilities of the Power Platform.

• Extensive experience in the implementation, configuration, management and integration of complex systems
• Extensive experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of digital systems as part of a complete software product lifecycle and optimising and integrating business processes across disparate systems
• Experience in system development using .NET
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and RESTful Web APIs
• Knowledge of security coding practices and techniques.
• Experience developing integrations using SOAP or REST APIs/Web services.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions and Azure API Management.
• Experience with developing for Microsoft SQL Server/Azure SQL Database, Reporting Services and integration Services
• Experience developing, deploying and maintaining solutions for Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
• Experience with Azure DevOps (or similar platforms), in particular the use of Work Items, Git Repos and Pipelines
• Experience with TechnologyOne, TRIM/Content Manger or similar products
