Description:
Our client is a very busy Government Department who are looking to give an opportunity to an undergraduate Engineer in their Asset Management department, located on the Gold Coast.
This contract will run for 12 months on a part-time basis for 2-3 days per week. Within the role you will:
• Assist in the investigation and assessment of road infrastructure assets damaged by natural disasters, including assisting with field inspections and supporting the documentation of condition assessments.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of project documentation including scope definitions, drawings, progress reports, cost tracking, and photographic records for DRFA compliance.
• Undertake preliminary technical analyses using TMR standards and guidelines to support engineering solutions for restoration works involving pavements, culverts, drainage, and slope stabilisation.
• Participate in the development and review of project programs and schedules, identifying risk areas and mitigation strategies with support from senior engineers.
• Provide input to design reviews, procurement support, and contract administration under guidance, ensuring adherence to TMR policies and governance procedures.
• Engage with internal stakeholders at TMR such as environmental and cultural heritage etc.
• Apply relevant engineering standards, policies, specifications, and safety requirements during planning and implementation of recovery works.
• Assist NDP administrative support with essential data entry, digital filing into TMR systems, and project control aspects using department systems.
• Support site-based construction oversight including quality assurance tasks, site visits, and contractor liaison to ensure compliance with approved methodologies.
You must be able to work 2-3 days per week during Semester times and full time during University holidays.
Candidates will be required to be currently enrolled in a second or third year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree accredited under the Washington Accord or double degree including Civil Engineering.
This role will be managed under direct engineering supervision.
