Description:
Osborne Richardson are the only true Environmental Health specialist recruiter across all of Australia, New Zealand and the UK. We are therefore, always trying to partner with the most prestigious, forward thinking and career-expanding organisation that we can come up with.
We are very excited to bring you a Senior EHO role with a State Government organisation based our of Cairns, but covering the whole top end of Queensland. This role has an initial shelf-life until the end of June however, we have a sneaky suspicion that those willing to take a punt could be rewarded with a long-term contract or a permanent gig. Told you this was a cracking opportunity!!
As the Senior EHO, we are obviously looking for an Environmental Health Professional who has seen their fair share of legislation, policy and compliance. It's not one for graduates, this one, as much as I hate excluding you guys!! An experienced EHO is the order of the day here as you will be expected to confidently lead key projects and plan for the future and manage any hairy issues that arise during your tenure.
The primary purpose of the role will be to deliver complex environmental health services including the public health regulatory response and public health management of drinking water incidents and to provide higher level support and guidance to the water quality management team. The water quality management team is responsible for an all hazards approach to the management of public health risks through including Legionella, associated with water systems.
We are therefore, seeking a highly skilled Officer who can work both autonomously, and within a team, providing effective mentoring to junior staff. Ideally the preferred applicant will have a strong regulatory compliance history and advanced knowledge of drinking water, drinking water systems and general public health across the full spectrum of Environmental Health duties. Experience operating in disaster response situations is also highly desirable.
You remember we mentioned adventure somewhere way up above ( I think)?? Well this role will have the potential to have regular , long-distance travel into remote areas. This may include the use of light aircraft, driving on unsealed roads and staying in varying standards of accommodation. If that's not for you, then might be one to let slide on by.
As with all Environmental Health roles, we ask you to ensure that you have a suitable Environmental Health qualification which allows you to practice as an EHO in Queensland. If you're not sure, look below for the email and mobile number and get in touch.
Always happy to have a chat regarding these roles and we encourage you to email or call us to get any additional information you may be after. The best person to speak to is Owen Millar on 0414 706 605 or at Owen@oraus.com.au.
