Construction Taskforce Officer

One lucky candidate will secure this Construction Taskforce Officer role with one of our favourite clients, located ideally in Southern Brisbane in easy commuting range of both Brisbane CBD and the Northern Gold Coast. An extremely solid initial contract of 7 months is on offer with the very real possibility of ongoing contract work or conversation into a permanent position with the organisation. Contract roles just don't get any better than this one.

As the Construction Taskforce officer, you will lead the proactive monitoring, investigation and compliance of development within the Council area. You will ensure that the large amount of ongoing and future development within this thriving region complies in full with legislative requirements and also strives to reach best practice outside of this.

Your daily routine may include:
• Investigation of alleged noise/dust nuisance or breaches of development approval conditions on development sites,
• Management of community expectations in respect to neighbouring developments
• Attendance at pre-start meetings with builders, planners and developers
• Pro-active inspection of ongoing development sites to ensure compliance is being achieved
• Issuing compliance notices in respect to unlawful development practices
• Communication with builders/developers to ensure development conditions are achieved
• Education of builders/developers on best practice

To be the successful applicant, we would ask that you read though the following key skills and experience and ensure that you align closely with them:
1. Knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, the Environmental Protection Act 1994, the Building Act 1975, the Local Government Act
2009, Logan Planning Scheme 2015, Council’s local laws and associated codes, standards, and regulations.
2. A tertiary qualification in an area related to the development industry is desirable but not essential.
3. A proven track record in undertaking investigations, and determination of appropriate compliance or enforcement responses.
4. Experience in reading and interpreting development conditions, approved plans of development, construction plans and traffic
management plans.
5. Knowledge of the building and construction industry, and the practical implications of development in the local community.
6. Experience in delivering quality customer service as a technical expert who can translate complex information into simple
concepts
7. A current Drivers Licence
