Principal Engineer - Strategic Road Maintenance

Salary: $50 per hour + Location: Ref: JT/O68

One of Queensland's leading Local Councils, based just south of Brisbane is looking to appoint a Principal Engineer - Strategic Road Maintenance on an initial 12 month contract.

This role is responsible for leading the Maintenance Planning section of the council's Road Maintenance Program, reporting to the Road Maintenance Program Leader.

This is all encompassing role will include;

- Proactively manage staff behaviour and performance through coaching and mentoring, and regularly monitor staff performance against the Branch Business Plan and annual Achievement Planning & Review (AP&R).
- Manage and monitor the financial aspects of a specific area of the Road Maintenance Program, including the reporting of budget variances for activities, projects and services.
- The effective management of contractors engaged in the delivery of maintenance programs, projects and services. This includes the preparation of tender documents and specifications, including contract administration
and supervision.
- Develop planning and technical documents such as standards, specifications, processes, guidelines, contracts
and service enhancements that grow the business to meet the demands of a rapidly growing city, reduce risk, align service
delivery with budgets and which align organisational goals and objectives to meet the expectations of the community.

To be considered for the role you will have;

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) and eligibility for registration as a - - - Professional Engineer (Queensland) under
the Professional Engineers Act is mandatory. Candidates who are able to obtain this registration within a short time period may
be considered.
- Extensive experience leading and working as part of a high performing team to ensure achievement of outcomes including
building, maintaining and fostering good relationships with colleagues, clients and team members.
- Possession of 30215 QLD – General Safety Induction Card (also known as a White Card).
- Possession of a current ‘C’ Class driver’s license is essential.
