Osborne Richardson are delighted to bring another exceptional Local Government technical role to the market in Queensland; this time with our colleagues in Gympie. On offer is an initial 3 month role for a Water Treatment Plant Operator with the Council, with a pretty decent indication that this role will continue onwards thereafter or even go permanent.
Your main duties will be to operate and maintain Council’s Water and/or Sewerage Treatment Plants in a safe and competent manner. In order to do so, you will undertake the following key duties: • Operation of plants and treatment of water and/or sewage to comply with Government Regulator requirements and Council’s customer service standards. • Assisting with ensuring that all testing and reporting of results is undertaken in accordance with regulatory and operational requirements. • Maintenance of key infrastructure as required. • General Plant cleaning duties as required.
We are extremely excited about this role and will be delivering outstanding candidates to the Council for this role. In order to get yourself on that particular list, we ask that you closely align to the following essential requirements: 1. Certificate III in Water and Sewage Treatment with previous knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of water and/or sewerage treatment plants. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of safe chemical handling and storage. 3. Demonstrated computer operation skills, including reporting and field data capture. 4. Knowledge of SCADA & telemetry systems. 5. An understanding of quality assurance and maintenance management systems. 6. An understanding of water and waste water reticulation and collection systems. 7. Good physical fitness, including exerting solid force, lifting of moderate weights, standing for extended periods and movement in small spaces.
In addition to the above skill and knowledge requirements, we also ask that you hold the following mandatory licences/competencies: • Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence • Working At Heights. • Confined Space. • Construction Industry White/Blue
