Our Local Government client has an urgent requirement to fill both the below roles on an initial 2 month contract with potential for extension.
Senior Statutory Planner Statutory Planner The roles are with an employer of choice in the Melbourne region and will be one which you will want to have included on your resume. With all contract roles such as this, what initially commences as a short-term role, can rapidly transform into a much longer or permanent assignment.
As a key member of the Statutory Planning team, you will excel in:
- Ensuring the timely provision of advice to internal and external stakeholders, in relation to the Planning and Environmental Act
- Assess planning applications in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide top level communication between internal and external parties
- Having a sound understanding of VCAT practices and policies
- Providing a high standard of specialist advice to Council and it's customers
With this in mind, your application will be judged on:
- Your ability to understand and use Legislation, the Planning Scheme and policy to assist in determining planning applications and solve problems
- Your proactive and proven problem-solving skills
- Your customer service focus in the way of providing planning advice and information to Council’s customers
- Your proven time-management skills
- Your demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and make a positive contribution
- Your excellent written and oral communication skills
In order to be considered for this role, you will hold a degree in planning (or equivalent) and have proven experience in a similar role.
