Description:
Based in Brisbane, our long term client is one of Australia's leading food manufacturers with sites in every state. They have a great brand and huge growth planned for the future. We are delighted to be assisting them in their search for a Senior Food Technologist. In this role you will work closely with the Department Manager and provide technical expertise in the development of new food products from concept to launch. You will be involved in every step of the Product development cycle and ensure all new products meet company goals and specifications. You will be working cross-functionally, utilising your strong interpersonal and staff-engagement skills. In this role it will be your responsibility to:
• Work closely with the concept development team on new food concepts and trends
• Efficiently manage multiple development timelines, integrating stage gate/milestones into the product development cycle
• Ensure all new products meet the company’s ethos and specifications
• Coordinate and project manage with key stakeholders (production, supply chain, engineering, quality etc.) to ensure manufacturing trials run smoothly
• Troubleshoot any technical issues cross-functionally
• Engage with QA on product validations, compliance and documentation
• Commissioning of equipment when required
• Participate in in-house sensory testing
• Establish new procedures and processes where required
• Mentor and develop other food technologists in the team
• Uphold and enforce company and legislative WHS and QA standards
About you:
• Bachelor of food science/food technology or a closely related field
• Extensive experience in the commercialisation of new food products (circa 10 years)
• Strong stakeholder engagement / communication skills
• High attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
• Experience with multi component fresh and frozen products
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with strong project management skills
• You will be a true foodie: up to date with all the latest food processing technology, with a genuine love for all foods
