Osborne Richardson is delighted to be working with a great council in Melbourne to bring you a fantastic Lead Fire Prevention Officer opportunity.

This contract will run until the end of March 2026. but could potentially extend beyond that.

The Lead Fire Prevention Officer is responsible for delivering Council’s statutory fire prevention obligations under the Country Fire Authority Act 1958 and the Fire Rescue Victoria Act 1958, including the appointment and duties of the Municipal Fire Prevention Officer.

This role is critical to ensuring community safety and preparedness during the fire season and contributes to Council’s broader emergency management responsibilities under the Emergency Management Act 2013.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspections & Compliance: Lead Council’s annual fire hazard inspection program, ensuring private land complies with fire prevention regulations. Issue Fire Prevention Notices and manage enforcement processes.
Community Engagement: Respond to public enquiries and complaints, educate residents on fire safety obligations, and promote voluntary compliance.
Fire Management Planning: Support the review and implementation of the Municipal Fire Management Plan and Victorian Fire Risk Register. Chair relevant sub-committees and contribute to strategic planning.
Administration and Information Management: Maintain accurate records and comprehensive databases of fire hazards, inspection outcomes, and compliance actions.
Emergency Management Support: Collaborate with the Municipal Emergency Management Officer (MEMO) and Municipal Recovery Manager (MRM) to support Council’s emergency preparedness and response.

Key Selection Criteria:

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Emergency Management, Planning, or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of the Emergency Management Act 2013, CFA Act 1958, and associated regulations.
Experience in local government emergency management and community education.
Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compliance Requirements:

Current and ongoing Working with Children Check.
Current and ongoing Police Check.
Valid and ongoing Victorian Driver’s Licence.

Osborne Richardson is delighted to be working alongside a great local council to source an Illegal Dumping Investigations Officer.

Working a 4 day week, this role will be based in Gatton and will run until August 2026, with a high possibility of being extended even further.

On any given day, you will find yourself undertaking a range of activities, including:

Conducting surveillance of areas known as illegal dumping hotspots.
Investigating complaints of illegal dumping and littering in a timely and efficient manner, including undertaking enforcement and organising clean up arrangements.
Interpreting legislation and preparing correspondence and records in accordance with adopted policies and procedures.
Compilation and presentation of reports to Council in respect to the project progress and key milestones.
Provision of proficient and effective technical support to various teams within Council in order to achieve the program aims and objectives.
Create and implement awareness and education campaigns, including undertaking presentations to both internal and external stakeholders; and work with Council’s Communications team to provide suitable content for advertising, signage and media articles.

To be considered for this role, we're looking for candidates with:

Certificate IV in Government Investigations (Regulatory Compliance) and/or Diploma qualification in a relevant field; or
Demonstrated practical experience in a similar position; and
A current driver’s licence (Class C).
Strong investigative, problem solving, and a proven ability to interpret legislation.
Demonstrated organisational skills, including prioritising and organising work and meeting goals and objectives.
Well-developed informal and formal communication skills including the demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports and make recommendations with solutions.

This fantastic opportunity will run for up to 6 months, with potential to extend beyond this.

This position plays a vital role in maintaining city safety and liveability by enforcing responsible animal keeping practices and addressing animal noise nuisance complaints.

Key duties in this role will include:

Responding to a significantly high number of customer requests by conducting investigations into complaints regarding barking and animal noise nuisance.
Carrying out thorough history checks on properties to determine previous noise breaches and activity.
Conducting monitoring of properties for alleged animal nuisance (noise or barking) including capturing observation and audio records using audio recording devices such as Noise Net.
Providing clear advice to owners on their responsibilities to reduce noise nuisance.
Maintaining clear and factual records that can contribute to legally enforceable compliance outcomes.
Issuing correspondence, Advice Notices, Compliance Notices and Infringement Notices (supported by evidence).
Delivering the highest quality service to stakeholders, including our community, the Animal Care team, other council staff and the council in a professional, courteous, non-judgemental and respectful manner.
Actively promoting and supporting responsible pet ownership opportunities across the City.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join a long-established, family-owned food manufacturing business with more than 70 years of history in Australia.

The company operates a high-throughput beef processing facility that supplies both domestic and export markets, maintaining a strong reputation for consistency, food safety, and quality.

This site-based role, located in regional NSW, offers the chance to join a stable and continuously growing organisation that invests heavily in quality systems and operational excellence.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Manager – Quality Assurance, you will lead the site’s quality and food safety function across two shifts (day and night). You will also have:

Two Direct Reports (QA Supervisors)
A broader team of QA staff operating across day and night shift
Responsibility for maintaining and improving all site quality systems, auditing, compliance, and customer requirements
Oversight of a beef-only processing operation
A full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime when production requires

Key Requirements

Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance within food manufacturing
Strong understanding of BRC, HACCP, regulatory standards, and export compliance
Leadership experience managing QA teams or supervisors
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Meat industry or primary processing experience (highly regarded)
