Development Assessment Engineering Officer

Description:
This contract opportunity with a City Council, will be based in Western Sydney. It will run for approximately 3 months but there are provisions for further extensions in place. The role itself will include:
Key accountabilities
•Provide administration support to the Drainage Development Assessment team
•Assessment of development application referrals in drainage and flooding to successfullymeet KPIs
•Liaise with internal and external customers with regards to development applications
•Monitor and record all incoming development application referrals
•Action all enquires, correspondence and documentation appropriately within timeframes and service level frameworks
•Maintain record management in accordance with Council’s Record Management procedures
•Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision
•Contribute to Council’s engineering specification and processes relating to development assessment.
To secure this role, you will need:
•Degree in civil engineering
•Previous experience in assessing development applications in a council environment
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively resolve conflict and negotiate neutrally beneficial outcomes
•Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work within a team environment
•Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced team with a high workload.
•Advanced skills in corporate databases including Technology 1, CM9 and GIS
•Excellent time management and organisation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
