Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Town Planner for a 12 month contract with a view to extend. The position will be based on the Gold Coast and will involve travel to site on occasion. This is in response to the unprecedented growth SE Qld is experiencing. The role will commence 03/11/25.
To be successful you will require:
- A formal qualification in Town Planning or a related profession which is deemed acceptable by the Planning Institute of Australia
- Hold a current C class driving license
- Experience in assessing development applications form a planning perspective
- Able to undertake a criminal records check if successful

This role will report to the Project Manager and responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and project manage the identification and acquisition of environmental offset and project land including working with multiple teams within TMR and external project advisors.
• Provide specialised technical advice in relation to CCFS to the Land Management Team in relation to the assessment of development applications under the Planning Act 2016.
• Maintain appropriate and effective liaison and communication with internal staff, State and Local Government agencies and industry.
• Provide high-level written and oral advice on development related matters relating to the safety and efficiency of the state transport corridors in accordance with legislated timeframes.
• Represent the project on working groups, steering committees and meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide advice in relation to ministerial correspondence and briefing notes as directed for the Regional Director and/or Regional Office as required.
• Provide assistance in the management and protection of Coomera Connector transport corridor from a governance perspective.
