Osborne Richardson is delighted to be working alongside a great local council to source an Illegal Dumping Investigations Officer. 

Working a 4 day week, this role will be based in Gatton and will run until August 2026, with a high possibility of being extended even further. 

On any given day, you will find yourself undertaking a range of activities, including:
  • Conducting surveillance of areas known as illegal dumping hotspots. 
  • Investigating complaints of illegal dumping and littering in a timely and efficient manner, including undertaking enforcement and organising clean up arrangements.
  • Interpreting legislation and preparing correspondence and records in accordance with adopted policies and procedures. 
  • Compilation and presentation of reports to Council in respect to the project progress and key milestones. 
  • Provision of proficient and effective technical support to various teams within Council in order to achieve the program aims and objectives. 
  • Create and implement awareness and education campaigns, including undertaking presentations to both internal and external stakeholders; and work with Council’s Communications team to provide suitable content for advertising, signage and media articles. 
To be considered for this role, we're looking for candidates with:
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations (Regulatory Compliance) and/or Diploma qualification in a relevant field; or
  • Demonstrated practical experience in a similar position; and
  • A current driver’s licence (Class C).
  • Strong investigative, problem solving, and a proven ability to interpret legislation.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including prioritising and organising work and meeting goals and objectives.
  • Well-developed informal and formal communication skills including the demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports and make recommendations with solutions.
