Osborne Richardson is excited to be assisting a local council with a confident and community-focused City Enforcement Officer to support council's safety initiative through proactive street patrols, education and local laws compliance.
This role plays a key part in maintaining safe, accessible and welcoming public spaces by combining enforcement with engagement and education.
This contract will run from January to March initially, with potential to extend beyond this and become ongoing.

Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting visible street patrols to support community safety and public amenity
- Enforcing Local Laws relating to public behaviour, including alcohol consumption in public places and obstruction of footpaths
- Educating and engaging with community members to encourage voluntary compliance
- Investigating complaints and responding to customer service requests
- Issuing infringement and compliance notices where required
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and diaries of enforcement activities
- Preparing briefs and attending court as required
- Working collaboratively with Victoria Police, Council contractors and external agencies
About You
This opportunity would suit:
- An experienced Local Laws or Authorised Officer seeking a new challenge, or
- A candidate with a security or compliance background who can learn and apply local laws processes, or
- Someone with a community services or community safety background who is confident supporting a street patrol program focused on education and compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Confidence working independently in public environments
- A fair, balanced and respectful approach to enforcement
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to engage with a diverse community
- Sound time management and decision-making skills
- Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) and/or Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation (preferred), or substantial relevant experience
- Experience working in a regulatory, compliance, security or community-facing role
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Satisfactory Police Check
- Physical capability to undertake patrol and enforcement duties
- Willingness to work rostered hours between 7am–7pm, including some overtime
