An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Pastry Guru with a strong commercial mindset to step into a Product Manager & Site 2IC role within a growing food manufacturing business.
This is a pivotal position for a creative, technically strong pastry professional who thrives on innovation, enjoys developing new products from concept to launch, and is ready to play a key leadership role supporting site operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Site Lead, you will be responsible for driving product innovation, overseeing new product development, and acting as second-in-charge (2IC) across the site.
You will combine culinary expertise with operational leadership, ensuring products are not only exceptional in quality and taste, but scalable for commercial production.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead pastry and dessert product development, from ideation through to commercialisation
- Drive innovation, seasonal ranges and continuous product improvement
- Act as 2IC of the site, supporting daily operations and stepping in when required
- Collaborate with production, quality and operations teams to ensure feasibility and consistency
- Oversee trials, benchmarking, costings and ingredient sourcing
- Ensure products meet food safety, quality and customer standards
- Mentor and inspire junior pastry and product development staff
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef / Pastry Specialist / Product Developer within food manufacturing or high-volume production
- Strong track record in innovative product development, particularly in pastry or desserts
- Commercial mindset with an understanding of scaling recipes for production
- Natural leader with the confidence to operate as a site 2IC
- Passionate, creative and always ahead of food trends
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Senior, influential role with real input into product direction
