An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior NPD Food Technologist to join a large, well-established food manufacturing business operating within a high-volume, high-risk environment.
This role sits within a collaborative Product Development team and plays a key role in delivering new products from concept through to commercialisation, as well as driving continuous improvement across existing product ranges.
This position will suit a hands-on technologist who enjoys working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Procurement, Marketing and Commercial teams, and who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role
- Manage multiple NPD projects from concept to launch
- Lead technical aspects of projects including approvals, documentation, risk identification and timelines
- Formulate products, support scale-up trials, validation and troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with food legislation, customer standards and internal quality systems
- Support continuous improvement, cost optimisation and product enhancement initiatives
- Review and maintain specifications, formulations, trial reports, costings and artwork
- Evaluate raw materials, ingredients and packaging for suitability and performance
- Support shelf life, nutritional and sensory testing
- Contribute to Stage Gate governance and project tracking
- Partner closely with manufacturing sites and internal stakeholders
- Support training and development of junior technologists where required
- Degree in Food Science or related discipline
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in Product Development / Food Technology
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems and regulatory compliance
- Experience working in high-risk or short shelf-life manufacturing environments highly regarded
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation capability
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confident running trials and managing multiple priorities
- Hands-on, solutions focused and commercially minded
- Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel
- Based at either Beresfield (NSW) or Mt Kuring-gai (NSW)
