Description:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Operations Manager to join an iconic Melbourne-based coffee roaster and manufacturer during a period of strong growth and expansion.

This is a senior, site-based leadership role with responsibility for end-to-end manufacturing operations, leading a team of four direct reports across production, warehousing, quality and continuous improvement.

You will play a critical role in shaping operational strategy, driving performance, and supporting the business as it continues to scale.

This role will suit a hands-on, people-focused leader who thrives in fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environments and enjoys building high-performing teams.

The Role
  • Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations across production, warehousing and dispatching
  • Direct leadership of four departmental leaders
  • Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost and continuous improvement outcomes
  • Optimise production planning, labour utilisation and capacity
  • Embed strong SOPs, performance metrics and accountability frameworks
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, CI, waste reduction, efficiency)
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Sales, Technical and Commercial teams
  • Support growth projects, new product introductions and operational scalability
  • Foster a strong culture of safety, engagement and operational excellence
About You
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager / Manufacturing Manager / Plant Manager
  • Background within food or FMCG manufacturing (coffee experience not essential)
  • Strong people leadership capability with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Commercial mindset with strong operational decision-making skills
  • Comfortable in high-volume production environments
  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems and compliance
  • Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated results
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
