About the role:

A large local council are seeking a skilled BI Developer with experience in Crystal Reports to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) solutions, including data warehouses, reporting tools, and dashboards. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to understand data needs, extracting, and transforming data, and presenting insights through Crystal Reports and BI tools like Power BI.

As the BI Developer, you will be the primary point of contact for all reporting-related matters within the Council. You will be expected to stay up to date with new BI technologies and best practices, and to identify opportunities for improvement in the Council's Reporting systems. You will also be responsible for maintaining documentation and training materials for the Reporting systems, and for providing guidance and support to users as needed.

Experience:

• Expertise in creating Crystal Reports to support various business functions.
• Proficiency in Power BI and database management system MS SQL Server, other DB experience is a plus.
• Understanding of relational database structures and integrations i.e. APIs, data migration experience is a plus.
• Excellent experience with Power BI and Crystal reports.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of database systems in a cloud infrastructure environment, at least one cloud-based database platform, such as Azure. Knowledge of ERP systems, with understanding of relational database structures and integrations i.e. APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve BI and report issues.
• Demonstrated knowledge of data modelling concepts and practices.
• Certification in ITIL and strong understanding and experience in applying its practices and principles in an enterprise environment.
• Understanding of the Local Government environment.
• Understanding the sensitivities around Council’s performance, reputation, and representation to the local community and beyond (desirable).
