Osborne Richardson are delighted to be partnering with the QLD Department of Primary Industries in Toowoomba to bring another great role to the market. On this occasion, we are seeking an experienced Workshop Fabricator to join the team on a long-term contract. 

In your new role, in central Toowoomba, your position will commence in late February and run initially for 6 months with a view to a further 12 month extension thereafter. Pay rate will be $54.31 per hour + Super, based on a standard 36.25 hour week. 

The main focus of your role will be to assist in the overall production of mobile response trailers for the team, including steel fabrication and electronic works in these vehicles. As such, we are seeking a candidate who knows these aspects of fabrication back to front, and inside out. Key requirements we will be looking for will include:

1. A current “C” class drivers’ licence
2. Proficiency in using general engineering workshop machinery which includes:
   • Measuring and cutting steel specifications
   • Machining including competence on lathe and milling machines an advantage
   • Drilling materials and tapping holes
   • Use of grill press, cut off saws, bandsaw, portable hand tool including grinders
3. Experience with low voltage wiring will be highly desirable.
4. Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards including PPE
