Project Delivery Coordinator

Description:
Our client is a Regional Council covering inland Queensland. Increased civil works spending has led to the need for a Project Delivery Coordinator to join their progressive Civils team adminstering maintenance and new works. 
  
This is a contract position initially but the option to apply for a permanent appointment will also be available. The contract will commence from ASAP until 31st July.
  
Required Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge
  • Experience in the application of and management of contracts as applied to the delivery of capital projects.
  • Experience in, or a sound understanding of, local government, and program planning.
  • Experience in liaising with and providing advice to various internal and external stakeholders, members of the public, council and others in relation to a significant strategic or capital project.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain the support and cooperation of others to achieve effective project delivery.
  • High level oral and written communication skills including excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills and the capacity to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Significant experience in the implementation of both short and long term capital delivery programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of road, stormwater, water, sewerage design, and construction contract specifications.
  • Proficient use of the full suite of Microsoft programs; particularly Project and Excel.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ recent and relevant experience in the same or similar role.
  • Previous experience in either state government or local government field.
  • Familiarisation with One Council or similar procurement and customer response systems.
  • Experience managing procurement, reporting and budget management.
