Civil Design Engineer

Our client is a progressive local council who are seeking to engage a Design Engineer to work in their Infrastructure Division. This is a permanent appointment based in a vibrant town in central NSW. Forming part of a supportive team, this role will allow you to not only utilise your design engineering skills, but also develop new qualities to use throughout your career.
The role will consist of :
• Carry out surveys, investigations, design and drafting of specific design projects using 12d and MicroStation.
• Undertake technical investigations and prepare reports on civil design projects.
• Participate in Design Office meetings.
• Regular liaison with stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely project decision making.
• Facilitate induction and information flow to construction teams.
Research, implement, operate and manage computer models for water, sewerage, transport and drainage networks as required.
• Report on results/outcomes of modelling to internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure design contract documentation meets council and statutory requirements.
• Be proactive in Continuous Improvement by developing required new system elements to improve branch efficiency and ability to innovate.
To be successful in the role you will require:
1. A formal qualification in Civil Engineering, or equivalent as recognised by Engineers Australia, or extensive Civil Engineering design experience.
2. Proficiency in the use of Design, Drafting software including 12D, MicroStation, Autoturn 11 and XPSTORM
3. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and ability to work within a team environment.
4. Well-developed report writing and communication skills.
5. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
