The role of the Digital Communications Adviser is to ensure the content management systems of Council's multiple internet and one intranet site operate effectively, provide specialist professional web, social media and videography advice and services to internal clients and/or external stakeholders as determined by the Group Manager Communication, Engagement and Tourism.
Key Accountabilities
Web and digital communications:
Provide system and technical administration, and desktop support to web based corporate content management systems (CMS systems) and web technologies such as HTML and CSS to manage multiple corporate internet sites and the intranet to ensure content is up-to-date, accurate and accessible, including effective use of technology that aligns to corporate standards for whole of Council.
Convert complex documents, such as e-newsletters and/or develop online forms and surveys, using specialist software, HTML and CCS to digital format for internal and community use.
Multimedia:
Resolve complex technical problems to create and provide high level technical support and solutions for the whole of Council to optimise content design, placement and delivery, including digital assets creation (such as video, sound clips and photos) and supporting metrics in a timely manner to ensure continuity of services required under Service Level Agreements.
Social Media:
Develop usage and identify tailored solutions to maximise the efficiency and benefits of the intranet, websites and other social media channels, Council's prime internal and external communications tool to ensure consistency in operations, campaign and content development and continuous improvement.
Coordinate and train Council officers to enable them to create and maintain website and intranet online content, including online forms. Provide ongoing support to meet communications and business needs and to ensure quality support services are delivered that contribute to the ongoing maintenance and development of systems in Council.
Digital Strategy:
Ensure digital strategy is maintained to reflect organisational structure and document, standards, guidelines and procedures for use of intranet, website and social media channels while also providing reports that provide tailored information to business units to allow informed management decision making.

Experience
- Demonstrated achievement in implementing, configuring and administering extensive and complex large government web and intranet sites using CMS systems, and online form builders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working effectively with stakeholders to meet their on-going business and internal communications needs. Includes highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated achievement in delivering user training to non-technical staff.
- Well-developed analytical skills and proven technical knowledge of a digital environment, digital platforms and software integration to provide specialist advice and solutions on how these platforms can be used by government organisations for communications, engagement and disaster management.
- Highly developed coordination skills, including the ability to plan and meet urgent deadlines when working on multiple projects.
- Experience in developing innovative digital ideas and concepts, project plans and managing projects, including providing advice on technology advances and applications about social media, web publishing and digital communications.
- Working knowledge of the latest version of Sharepoint, Office365 , JADU CMS, OpenForms.
