About the role:
  
The client is undertaking a Dynamics Upgrade Project to support a priority initiative that will increase the stability and supported life of the application while gaining business knowledge that will inform future design and support decisions.  

They are seeking an experienced CRM Technical Specialist to lead critical Microsoft Dynamics CRM upgrade projects and provide ongoing technical expertise as the organization evaluates its long-term CRM strategy. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for migrating our on-premises CRM environments from legacy versions to Dynamics 365 V9.0, while supporting strategic planning for potential cloud migration
  
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the migration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 (Internet Facing Deployment) to Dynamics 365 V9.0 on-premises
  • Plan and execute upgrade of CRM 2015 (internal deployment) to V9.0 following initial migration success
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing customizations, plugins, workflows, and integrations
  • Develop and execute migration strategies with minimal business disruption
  • Perform pre-migration assessments, data validation, and post-migration testing
  • Work with development team to assess and ensure compatibility of existing ASP.NET applications that integrate with CRM database
  • Install, configure, and deploy Microsoft Dynamics CRM/365 solutions (on-premises and cloud)
  • Design and implement CRM customizations including entities, forms, workflows, business process flows, and plugins
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide production support
  • Work collaboratively with infrastructure team on CRM architecture and deployment requirements
  • Implement security models, role-based access controls, and data governance
  • Coordinate with development team on maintaining and enhancing external applications that interface with CRM
  • Provide technical assessments comparing platform capabilities, migration complexity, and TCO
  • Support proof-of-concept initiatives for potential platform transitions
  • Document current state architecture, customizations, business processes, and external integrations
  • Contribute to future-state CRM roadmap aligned with organizational needs
Experience
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM (versions 2013-2016 and Dynamics 365)
  • Proven experience in CRM on-premises installations, upgrades, and migrations
  • Critical: Experience with Internet Facing Deployment (IFD) configurations and claims-based authentication
  • Strong knowledge of ADFS integration and external user authentication scenarios
  • Experience managing both internal and external-facing CRM deployments
  • Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 V9.0+ architecture and Unified Interface
  • Expertise in CRM customization: forms, views, entities, workflows, business rules, JavaScript
  • Experience with plugin development using C# and the CRM SDK
  • Proficiency in CRM SDK, Web API, and integration patterns
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • Understanding of how external applications integrate with CRM (database-level and API-based) - development support available from internal team
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server (database concepts, basic queries, backup/recovery understanding)
  • Understanding of Windows Server, IIS, and Active Directory concepts
