Osborne Richardson are delighted to offer an opportunity as a Finance Coordinator with Colac Otway Shire Council.
This role will provide financial leadership and expertise to:
- Support strategic decision making by way of efficient and accurate financial reporting
- Drive initiatives to ensure that all resources are efficiently managed and accounted for
- Foster a culture of customer service, continuous improvement and best practice
outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements
- Ensure the shire is in continuous compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and
accounting rules
- Manage the General Ledger and ensure all items are materially accurate at all times
Support the Manager Finance in creating and sustaining a dynamic Finance team that:
- Safeguards the financial integrity of Council
- Excels in the delivery of our customers’ service expectations
Qualifications and Experience
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance and completed or working towards a
Chartered Accounting (CA) or Certified Practicing Accounting (CPA) certificate or
equivalent.
• 5 years of demonstrated financial and/or management accounting experience.
• Demonstrated experience in managing the day-to-day operations of a business unit and
proven supervisory experience gained within a multi-disciplinary function, including the
ability to develop and motivate staff, provide expert advice, establish and monitor
outcomes and establish documented procedures and work instructions.
