About the role:

The Privacy Team provides high level privacy advice to corporate and regional business units, as well as schools regarding the department’s statutory privacy compliance obligations. The team also provides routine privacy advice regarding risk, and mitigation strategies particularly relating to corporate and enterprise products, and assesses policy, procedure, processes, initiatives and projects as required in consultation with various other compliance activities within the department.

The position reports to the Director/Manager, Privacy and will work as part of the privacy team which is comprised of a Manager, two Principal Privacy Officers, two Senior Privacy Officers and a Privacy Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake research, analysis, evaluation and provision of advice to support and align with the implementation of the Educational Technologies ISO 27001 project objectives.
Design, develop, deliver engaging training programs and associated learning support materials to support staff in understanding new processes, system role changes, and ISO 27001 compliance requirements.
Facilitate workshops and hands-on sessions to ensure staff can confidently adopt updated processes and system roles.
Engage, assist, and consult with the Educational Technologies team and the ISO project team to ensure training content and delivery is in line with business needs, and change activities.
Contribute to the analysis and documenting of business process, system changes and business user impacts in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, gathering feedback and recommending improvements to support continuous compliance.
Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.

Experience:

Demonstrated experience in undertaking complex Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) working with Information technology business areas.
Minimum 3 years’ experience investigating and managing privacy complaints and privacy breaches under the Commonwealth or Queensland privacy framework.
Demonstrated experience in providing high level privacy advice to senior management.
Extensive knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the Commonwealth and Queensland Privacy legislation and framework.
Extensive working knowledge of state and/or federal privacy legislation, and demonstrated knowledge in the delivery of privacy management better practice.
Experience identifying privacy risk and privacy risk assessment, development of risk mitigation strategies.
Experience managing client complaints and expectations in a statutory compliance environment.
Demonstrated capacity to work effectively under pressure, handle competing priorities, analysing complex issues and providing high level advice and meeting statutory deadlines.
Demonstrated highly developed written communication skills including the preparation of briefings, submissions and reports on complex issues and develop communications materials for a range of channels to support good governance and decision making.
Knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of recent changes to Queensland Privacy legislation.

The Role

About You

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

About the role:

The Identity and Access Management (IDAM) Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Council’s identity infrastructure, including on-premises Active Directory (AD) and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

The role will lead the modernisation, remediation, and optimisation of Council’s hybrid identity environment—ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient authentication and authorisation across systems and applications. This includes cleansing and rationalising the existing AD structure, rebuilding or redesigning it where required, and ensuring seamless integration with Microsoft Entra ID and other identity-related technologies.

The position will also establish and maintain identity governance and security best practices, aligning with Council’s ICT security policies and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

Assess, review, and document the current Active Directory (AD) environment, including domains, organisational units (OUs), group policies, trusts, and replication.
Clean up and restructure AD objects (users, groups, computers, and containers) to ensure consistency, naming standards, and compliance with ICT policies.
Redesign and rebuild the AD environment where required to meet scalability, security, and reliability needs.
Maintain, secure, and optimise AD Domain Controllers and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
Manage hybrid identity infrastructure connecting on-premises AD with Microsoft Entra ID.
Ensure consistent and secure synchronisation using Azure AD Connect and related components.
Configure and manage Conditional Access, MFA and Single Sign-On (SSO) to strengthen security and improve user experience.
Implement identity lifecycle management policies to automate provisioning, deprovisioning, and access review processes.
Integrate identity security with Microsoft Defender for Identity, Entra ID Protection, and other monitoring tools.
Detect and respond to identity-related security incidents or anomalies.
Ensure timely patching, monitoring, and performance management of identity systems.
Collaborate with cybersecurity team to align identity management with security frameworks and risk management policies.

Experience:

Advanced technical expertise in Active Directory design, administration, and troubleshooting.
Deep understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) hybrid configurations, synchronisation, and federation.
Strong knowledge of identity governance, RBAC, MFA, Conditional Access, and privileged access management.
Experience with Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related Windows Server roles.
Expertise with PowerShell scripting and automation for identity management tasks.
Understanding of authentication protocols (Kerberos, LDAP, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
Awareness of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and identity security principles.
Ability to analyse complex identity issues and recommend effective, compliant solutions.
Ability to manage complex cloud implementation projects with multiple stakeholders.
Effective vendor management and coordination with managed service providers.
Strong documentation and organisational skills, ensuring quality and consistency.
Ability to balance priorities, manage deadlines, and work under limited supervision.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing and supporting Active Directory and Azure-based identity environments.
Microsoft certifications preferred, such as:

About the role:

A large local council are seeking a skilled BI Developer with experience in Crystal Reports to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) solutions, including data warehouses, reporting tools, and dashboards. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to understand data needs, extracting, and transforming data, and presenting insights through Crystal Reports and BI tools like Power BI.

As the BI Developer, you will be the primary point of contact for all reporting-related matters within the Council. The Information Security Manager leads the definition, implementation, and governance of the organisation’s security, risk, and compliance capabilities across Brimbank City Council. The position is accountable for the development and implementatino of the ICT security practice, capability, and security program, ensuring that information assets and associated technology, applications, systems, infrastructure, and processes are adequately protected in the digitial ecosystem in which we operate.

Responsibilities:

Security Management and Operations.

Lead and manage ICT security including the development of ICT security policies, procedures, processes, and suitable technologies.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of ICT security, working with other ICT teams to ensure the protection of ICT assets & information as well as the prevention and management of breaches.
Monitors the external threat environment for emerging threats, conducts system security and vulnerability assessments, and works with stakeholders on the appropriate course of action.
Manage and contain security incidents and events to protect ICT assets and data. Limit operational impacts including the coordination of incident response plans to ensure that business-critical services are recovered in the event of a security event.
Lead and conduct investigations after breaches or incidents, including impact analysis and recommendations for avoiding similar vulnerabilities.
Lead Council’s cyber security operations including threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and cyber resilience initiatives.

Security Strategy and Capability

Manage the process of gathering, analysing and assessing the current and future threat landscape, as well as providing a realistic overview of risks and threats in the environment.
Develops a security vision, strategy and roadmap that is aligned to business priorities and enables and facilitates the business objectives aligned to the risk appetite by determining enterprise-wide security requirements, including new ICT investments required to protect our assets.

Works collaboratively with business and ICT stakeholders to understand and facilitate security risk assessments and risk management processes, both to optimise enterprise risk and to empower stakeholders to own and accept the level of risk they deem appropriate for their specific risk appetite.
Manage audit requirements across ICT, ensuring respective owners are delivering against the audit findings.
Identifies and tackles compliance requirements and build awareness of compliance within the organisation. Implement a compliance monitoring programme, including compliance reporting.

Security Practice and Knowledge Enablement

Builds awareness and establishes effective communications, reporting and insights for the proactive management of information security and establishes and implements a targeted security awareness training program for all employees.
Collaborates with business privacy and data owners to ensure that data privacy requirements are considered where applicable.
Assists with the identification of non-ICT managed ICT services in use ("distributed ICT") and facilitates the application of standard controls and rigor to these services. Where this is not possible ensures that risk can be reduced to the appropriate levels and ownership of this security risk is clear.

Experience:

Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ASD, COBIT and NIST.
Knowledge of enterprise information and cyber security processes, concepts, and best practices, with an exposure to public cloud models is desirable.
Exposure to a broad range of ICT functions and disciplines, with a strong working knowledge of ICT governance and/or information governance.
Demonstrated capability in effective reporting to executive management.
Regulatory compliance knowledge including PCI, VPDSF as well as knowledge and experience of network and infrastructure security and vulnerabilities.
Demonstrated technical expertise in ICT security and the application of ICT security measures.
Experience across other security areas including penetration testing, security architecture or design and security governance including hands-on experience implementing security solutions.
ICT Risk and/or compliance management experience.
CISSP/CISM or equivalent certifications preferred
Relevant experience in a public sector environment.
Working knowledge of The Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) and the Information Management Framework for the Victorian Public Sector and the Public Records Office Victoria Specifications and Standards is highly desirable.
